  • Women make up a majority of the human population. Therefore, (as gribbler would have us generalize) humans are not male.
    John Brown did nothing wrong.

    • Felch, you really are going out of your way to correct something that doesn't matter.

        Hm, good point.
        Physical appearances.
They have a lot more than that in common. An alphabet (partially), a lot of common culture and cuisine. I could go on.

Also writing, religion, art, and about a zillion other things. The Japanese pilfered practically their entire culture from the Chinese.

And Korea is basically Asia's Poland, having been conquered by everyone else several times to the point where their culture has overwhelming Chinese and Japanese influence.

That's why the Republicans lost. Too many humans are not men with gun obsessions.

And, cuisine? They don't really share much in common cuisine-wise that isn't shared in common, well, everywhere. Every culture has burritos and stir-fry...

I'm not saying that we should keep those bigoted groups from voting, ya fool.

I'm talking about the groups that the Republicans should be reaching out to. Let the other, bigoted groups keep voting Republican, but Republican politicians should distance themselves from those groups.

No Republican candidate can win a primary in red or purple jurisdictions without pandering to unsavory people who vote in the primaries.

I think you're being dense. Of course "being similar" is a relative thing, and heck, if we go down that road, China itself has more internal diversity than many countries, as you would expect with such a big population.

On the other hand, if you were to order countries in how close they are to China culturally, then Japan would be very close to the top of the list, almost certainly top 10 (of course this is a subjective exercise). Certainly higher than Pakistan. Wouldn't you acknowledge that?

Okay, then the Republican party is doomed.

Going back to the original point, however, HC suggested that Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, and Vietnamese were all essentially the same. My point is that they're not. I'm not arguing they're more similar than some other group; I'm arguing that you can't just lump them all together and say they vote for the same reasons.
