Tuesday is Election Day in the United States, and although the mostly state and local races won’t stir the same passions as next year’s presidential contest, millions of people will cast ballots.

There is something to say about making it easier for people to vote but computers are not secure and they're only become less secure so right now online voting is a terrible idea.

Computers aren't becoming less secure. Computers are getting used for more things, creating more opportunities for users to do stupid **** and get their computers pwned.

I.E. becoming even less secure. Sure, you can blame it on people being stupid, because they are, but at the end of the day it is less secure than it used to be and still going down.

Computers are not less secure, Oerdin. They are more of a target. These are different concepts.

The end of the day is they are not secure for voting and will be even less secure for voting in the future. Play word games all you want but that's the reality.

You two can't even be civil when you agree. Kinda sad.

Late today, Ernest Landante, a spokesman for Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, said the state does require e-mail voters to also send in hard copies of their ballots by regular mail immediately, and no special exemptions are being made for Sandy victims.

He said while Guadagno’s directive did not specifically mention it, the instructions for voters approved for email balloting are the same as what an overseas resident would get.

"These are the instructions that voters voting electronically receive: They do need to return the hard-copy ballot immediately after they vote," he said.

Oh man, if conservatives hack the man's email then New Jersey's what, 15? 17? Electoral votes could swing the election!

Thank God it isn't in a state that matters.

I think it should be a requirement for all blue states to vote by email.
