There are three elections in Pennsylvania right now. House, Senate, and President. That's 3 candidates. Is it really so hard to believe that he'd prefer the republican in all three, without being a partisan?

I've voted straight ticket in every election. Why would I vote for an opposing ideology?

When we accuse MrFun of being a partisan, we do so because he automatically believes whatever he reads on AlterNet, not because he is firmly in one political camp (though he is).

Is he really complaining about having to write in three names?

I've never voted straight ticket in my life. People that vote party not ideology are what's the problem in America. (No. One doesn't equal the other.)

What about judges, sheriff and other, HC? None?

It's not an election of ideologies, it's an election of people. Sometime the Democrat is actually the better candidate. You voting for that crackpot in Missouri for example? And in other cases, a competent moderate from the other party is often better than an extreme right-win candidate that will not govern but just obstruct. Honestly, straight ticket voting is one of the reasons we end up with difficulty governing and extremist candidates winning.

My state isn't stupid enough to have elected judges. As for Sherriff, in the last elections (2011) I voted for the Democrat because the Republican claimed he was going to crack down on illegal immigrants. I also voted for a democrat for state senate, though I now regret that vote. I thought he was more moderate than he really was. Republicans on the rest of the ballot.

Interesting. I've voted as many times for the Green Party as I have voted for Stephen Harper in Canada.

There is no democratic party in Bedford Co., so there are never any democratic candidates for local positions and sometimes not even for the state house of representatives.

I see. You feel it's better to have all judges appointed. I think that's pretty stupid.

Elected judges are a horrible awful terrible evil and idiotic idea.

How is it that the unwashed masses are fit to serve on juries but not elect judges?

Juries are stupid too. They consist entirely of people too stupid to get out of jury duty.

Elected judges have always seemed like a weird idea, but then again we don't have them over here. Don't you have problems with judges feeling they need to make politically wise judgements?
