That's why they're economic backwaters, right? I mean their start up and venture capital activity is just so off the charts while supposedly terrible liberal states dominate everything, huh? Shut your yap.

California is no where near bankruptcy, you ignorant ****. It's deficit is 25th out of 50 in percent of GDP terms and it is mostly due to right wing ********* who refuse to balance the budget. Even the state's debt as a percentage of GDP is middle of the road and extremely easy to manage given the state's overwhelming large economy compared to ****hole states. You live in a fantasy world, young man.

      • Hey, I don't see the South going bankrupt. We do see plenty of California cities going bankrupt. Why is this? If the are so smart and so prosperous, surely they'll have enough sense to pay their bills off in time.

I'm saying that California and the Northeast are the worst managed parts of the country. They are.
It's very easy to grow from a relatively small base and show high percentage growth. The truth is California's base is so much higher than most states even at 1.5% growth it amounts to more in real terms than 3% or even 4% growth in low base states. That means even with double the growth rate Califoria's lead in economic output is INCREASING not shrinking in real terms. Let me know when the gap actually starts going down.

BTW this is post bubble too where California is out performing in real terms when the state got hit harder than anyone else due to the real estate bubble which was caused by right wing policies (agreed to by bribed Democrats who sold America out to special interests). Lack of regulation caused that bubble and that caused the great recession. FACT. The backwards states are not nor will ever be major economic centers. ****holes like Texas don't innovate and instead just try to lure existing businesses with low costs due to the fact that they're crappy undesirable places to live and so (due to supply and demand) are very cheap. Just look at the start up map and you'll see who the economic winners are.

A couple and almost entirely REPUBLICAN cities in the inland areas. They speculated and lost signing stupid contracts which no successful and desirable coastal city would ever have agreed to. In the actual desirable places to live on the coast when a developer wants to build a new suburb we tell them they have to pay all of the costs to build new freeways and extend utility lines out to the new suburb; that way tax payer money is not risked by private speculators. To compare in the Republican districts of the central valley the cities took out massive loans to subsidize out of state developers so when those new suburbs turned up empty and unsold those cities were left holding the bag and still had to pay for those loans despite the fact that no one ever bought those homes because they were 3 hours each way to work in the successful coastal cities.

It was crony capitalism and speculation gone wrong which pretty much sums up Republican economics. That you have not even the slightest clue about the causes tells me you're too stupid to bother talking to about this subject. Get it, ****? Red, Republican dominated areas have declared bankruptcy not blue areas. It's Republican corruption and mismanagement which has caused nothing but problems.

                Let's do some fact-checking.

                STOCKTON CALIFORNIA
                (San Jaoquin County)

                54.19 Barack Obama
                43.16 John McCain

                SAN BERNARDINO
                (San Bernardino County)

                52.07 Barack Obama
                45.75 John McCain.

It's Republican corruption and mismanagement which has caused nothing but problems.
In areas that are majority democrat? Bull****. Once again, Oerdin doesn't even know California.

Let's look at Orange County. Hmm. Orange County is majority republican - and they went bankrupt in 1992. Since then they've been kicking ass.

I wonder if Dinner can explain why they went bankrupt in 1992.

                • Stockton is about as red as it gets in this state, ****. San Barnardino too. Just look who their Congressional reps are, who controls the county, who controls the city. 2008 was special in that Bush and the other idiots you support had scewed up so badly even red districts went, ever so slightly, blue because every sane person voted against Republicans. Look at the long term averages, ********.

You're such a dishonest ****stain. You're another one who should just kill himself but I know you will never successfully reproduce so maybe we can keep you as some sort of clown or warning to others.

Nope. I'm actually using facts. Another fact, it was a Democrat who bankrupted Orange County back in 1992 thanks to his astute leveraging of assets at 300 percent of their value.

If you want a red county - you go with Kern, or Orange county is the standard california example. Stockton and San Bernardino are majority democrat like the rest of the state. Perhaps you should take some time to get acquainted with the state.

The northeast is not successful in any sense.

Why do you think people have been moving south for the past few decades?

Have you ever seen the U-Haul prices between Los Angeles and Dallas versus the other direction?
