Also I wouldn't call DC a hipster city. More like a crime-ridden slum except for douchey Georgetown/NW. Live in Arlington or McLean instead.

Boston is a fantastic city to live in. Plus, it has plenty of research opportunities in the fields you are interested in.

The only problem with it is its god-awful sports fan. Fortunately, Eli has taken a lot of the wind out of their sails.

Mrs Horse broke her arm so we're back for some of the best and cheapest medical treatment in the world Monk.

And yes, we do offer incentives to skilled migrants and that's why I thought Az and his better half might want to look at Australia.

Another interesting factoid is we were one of the few western countries to give refuge to Jews before WWII and after the war a lot of holocaust survivors settled here, the largest number per head of population after Israel according to some counts. I'm rather proud of that.

Although during WWII some of them were interned briefly until someone told us they were probably anti-nazi! See the Dunera Boys... the story is online and became a comedy hit. So no harm, no foul I guess.

            Those are all hipster/yuppie cities.

How about Denver, Charleston SC, Atlanta, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, Tampa, Miami, and Raleigh?
You could make a shorter list of cities you wouldn't live in.

Denver is borderline but I love coasts. I would live there because of snow season though

            Charleston is for old ****s
Atlanta is like a less cultural LA
Kansas City is literally devoid of anything outside of BBQ
Minneapolis has terrible weather and is full of white people
SLC is a hub of mormons which are the least fun religion ever
Charlotte is bland, uninteresting, and unworldly
Tampa is a complete ****hole of strip malls and mediocrity
Miami is like Tampa but with better architecture and food
Raleigh is the Peoria of NC

Nashville has one thing going for it and that thing is Country Music, if you like that sort of thing
Alburquerque is tiny and full of weirdos
Pheonix is a ginormous sprawl of awful people, that don't give a **** about anything but themselves and is dirty. Pheonix is the antithesis of any sort of living I would want.
New Orleans is a ****hole that is only good for visiting
Houston is like New Orleans but without any of the visiting.

If you're not a coasts person, and I'm not, Denver is awesome.

You and I will just have to agree to disagree on which cities are great and which aren't.

Are you not white? Just curious. The level of racial diversity has never been a factor for me, but I could understand if you were a minority.

I am white, but I grew up in suburb of SF where

                  A. I was in the slight minority in the city i lived
                  B. Most my friends are different races
                  C. I was in the large minority in high school
                  D. There are cultural exchanges that I appreciate, most facile being the food, but a lot of deeper ones like what it's like to be asian in america. It was really difficult moving to Seattle and it being so much more white because I lost some of the things I took for granted.

None of you dickheads are even addressing prospects for work, like I did. Just more personal opinion based on nothing, per usual.

I wouldn't care for it, but I'd rather work there than live under a bridge in SF. "Welcome to the USA!"

Seriously, don't leave Israel, it is a boom country right now. If you have to move consider Australia or on of its off-shores, or China, then possibly the US.
