Being Republican is easy: Listen to Rush, and echo.
Not all conservatives or republicans listen to Rush. I've never heard him or listened to his show. Is he supposed to be someone I should know about? I'm always looking for good Conservatives.

I haven't either but I read this bit which was funny:
Back in late 2004, Rush Limbaugh had lots of fun playing an interview that Tina Brown (now editor of Newsweek) had on her little-seen CNBC show with David Westin, then the president of ABC News, who said that the media needed to send the equivalent of foreign correspondents to the Red States, to witness firsthand how these strange people in the hinterlands live out their exotic day-to-day existences, and why they rejected the suave and debonair John Kerry for that hayseed George W. Bush:
WESTIN: I think we don’t do that enough, and I’m not just talking religious communities. I’m talking all sorts of communities across the country. I think that… You understand this, Tina, living in New York or in Los Angeles, we have busy jobs. We go into the office every day. We tend to socialize with the same people, or the same types of people, and I think it’s terribly important for journalists to get out whether it’s overseas or domestically and try to understand.
As Rush quipped, paraphrasing Westin, “We need more foreign correspondents in Alabama! We need more foreign correspondents north of Palm Beach County in Florida! We need embeds to go to church, find out what’s going on with these holy rollers! Ah, folks, you can’t know how much I love this.”
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

We've used horses and bayonets quite a bit in Afghanistan, actually. Every soldier is issued with a bayonet.
More proof that Obama doesn't know what the hell he's talking about despite four years in office.
Primary tactics call for these things? Troll harder

Bayonets are just knives that can be attached to rifles. Actually they can also be swords, or all sorts of types of blades.
Horses have been used in a lot of modern conflicts. As an example, the Portuguese used them extensively in Angola and even converted an entire mechanized formation to horse cavalry because it's more effective than wheeled armored vehicles in that kind of terrain for patrol counter-insurgency.
At the beginning of our invasion of Afghanistan, entirely by special forces/special operations troops, our men and the men of the Northern Alliance were largely, perhaps mostly, mounted on horses.

You mean the proper gear for policing an angry crowd?
That's another use for horses, yes, although police don't use bayonets.
