This game is not X-com. Should have called it something else. They failed to capture the same feel ( strategy ) that made X-com enjoyable to play as a combat and economic game simulator.
It is a fun game to play but it just is not the same old x-com game.
My biggest complaint is the scripting of the game. There's much more that I dislike but I see no purpose in complaining to this crowd.
Anybody else feels the same or is it just me?

Oh okay. Because there's an encounter in the final mission with two sectopods in the middle of a big room. Your characters, if you are halfway intelligent, wind up on either side of them on raised walkways with pretty good cover. If you use rift on them they're dead in a turn or two. Especially if you chase it down with a rocket or blaster launcher round and a sniper shot.

I beat teh game today on classic ironman without losing a country. But due to some bug, I get a defeated screen after shooting the boss in the face."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

Trying to rebuild a decent squad against Muton Elites and Ethereals is going about as well as expected so far. I've managed to obtain a couple sargeants, and uncovered two psi assaults in my new hires, but it's hard to see getting much further unless I get a council mission offering an actual goddamned officer.

Yeah, I'm trying to envision my three sargeants and three squaddies going up against a sectopod, it's attendant drones, a couple chryssalids, and eight to ten heavy floaters.

Theres a minor bug with ghost armour, when you come out of invis at the start of your turn there is no option to ghost again. You can make the option reappear by changing unit, however with my 1 unit build that wasnt an option. i found I could swap to pistol and back again to make the ghost option reappearSafer worlds through superior firepower

Is the default for panicking soldiers in a VIP mission to shoot the VIP?
Can I turn that off somewhere? I don't mind difficulty (classic ironman here...) but I don't like the friendly-on-friendly stuff... seems like if you lose one soldier in a VIP mission you lose the mission.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
