      • Excluding labs, I think the most I could've had without a dean's permission was 12 a week (4 classes x 3 hours/week). But UofC crammed a metric ****ton of information into those 30 hours per class...

          • Considering that 8 of those hours are sysadmin 1 and operating systems, and I'm excluding labs from that total, plus I'm not counting ROTC obligations, that's actually an under-representation of my workload. Though my workload is still not very large.

              • You need to go carapace armor --> arc thrower --> plasma guns. Stun as many aliens as possible. Ignore lasers. Engineering should be building just satellites and Officer training. Save all the air crap until last.

Engineers are a million times more important than scientists. Stunning the right aliens gets you research credits to make up for the slow labs.

                  • On normal and below you're really picking missions based on panic level more than anything else, not the rewards. For when it does matter, the best reward by far is an experienced soldier.

                    • Don't be retarded. On classic you only go for the experienced soldier if a) you have a ton of engineers already and b) you desperately need a specific class (if the RNG gives you all supports or something). Or normal it doesn't matter what you pick because you'll win anyway.

                      • Finally got through the first month and a half on Classic without an utter catastro**** happening. The RNG was kind enough to wait until the third week of month two to generate a terror mission. Still rolling with 4 soldiers at that point, but they are a couple captains (assault with rapid fire, sniper with squad sight), a LT (support with suppressing fire), and a Sgt. (medic support). And, I was lucky enough to get the destroyed highway, not the army base. The only squaddie who got so much as injured was the junior support, who I had to sacrifice to locate/aggro the last two chrysalids up the hill; had already used both battle scanners.

Now have complete coverage of SA, no country over 3 terror at the moment. However, all of Europe and Asia are at three, and most of Africa; gotta get a few more engineers to build my third sat uplink and finish blanketing Asia for the OTC/Foundry upgrades. I'm willing to sacrifice Europe if it comes to that; the $150 from Russia would be nice, but the African +30% and/or aforementioned upgrades are more important.

                        • Incidentally, do any of you guys know what happens if you stun the "master" in a sectoid psychic link? Does the receiving sectoid get stunned as well, or does he just get killed, or just losses the buff? I've never gotten close enough in a relevant scenario to test it out.

Happens at 17:12. Seems like the developers didn't even know (lucky break avoiding a CTD during the livestream). It breaks the merge but doesn't kill the merged Sectoid.

                              • Yeah, the experienced soldier is only good, and I use good loosely, when you have a near squad wipe but plenty of cash, but limited options in OTS, and you have low panic levels.
