Having a lot of applicants isn't a bad thing for the military. Recruit quality has been going up lately. In ROTC, standards have tightened considerably over who can get a scholarship. Around 2006, it was as if they were willing to commission just about anyone.

Guy, he almost described you to a T. Just need to mention something about the expectations that the Detroit Lions will inevitably collapse and he's got you in a nutshell."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

I think the PBS is an unnecessary expense, and not an appropriate activity for the government. But I think it is one of the less evil things that the government does. It's pretty cheap, it's educational, and it's blandly inoffensive. When I was a kid I never watched it except when we had to for school. I didn't mind watching it in class, I just never felt it was worth my personal time at home.
In other words, I couldn't care less about PBS.John Brown did nothing wrong.

America's Army is an integral step to train the next generation of mech/android operators who will gloat about their number of headshots when we invade whatever's after Iran.
PBS has even more potential in this regard, but it's largely wasted.
