That speaks to the quality of people Americans are than anything else.

    Backwards then, backwards now.

Gentlemen, you're missing a much more important and philosophically interesting question: can Asher, at this point in time, be considered a "person"? Or is he merely a very assertive Canadian-American inferiority complex with internet access? Bear in mind that only his present capacity is relevant; any potential to later develop a balanced or nuanced personality is beside the point.

If he ends up inside a woman's uterus she's free to act in self defense and remove him.

Even you have to support "castle" laws in that case; gay dudes and uteri don't mix, so he'd have to be up to something sketchy.

I'd like to see you explain how one can have an inferiority complex for something he willingly renounces.

I suppose it makes you feel better if you dismiss all criticisms of your perfect country as coming from jealousy or a sense of inferiority. It's likely hard for you and many others to comprehend how someone can objectively view the situation America is in and want nothing to do with it.

We've had lots of threads from insecure Canadians (or at least one insecure Canadian) trying to assert how different his "culture" is from America's. ITT reasons why Canada is identical to America

                  1. Shared media markets
                  2. Canadians almost all live within 100 miles of the border (Asher is one of those rare exceptions as Calgary is instead 150 miles from the border, which is about half as far as I am from NYC)
                  3. Most of Canada's export trade is with the US
                  4. The dialect of English (outside of Newfoundland) is the same
                  5. Accents are almost the same
                  6. Canadians find America so compatible that they come here in large numbers
                  7. Many major Canadian metro areas actually straddle the border

                  Anyone else want to contribute?
