  • Asher, there's no need to get so angry. Kuci is just trying to explain to you how urban growth works. It's a complex issue and there's no shame in misunderstanding things at first.

Kuci has demonstrated he knows nothing of the municipal situation in Calgary over and over. And he is trying to "explain to me" how urban growth works. I know it's complex. Which is why only an idiot would make sweeping generalizations about a city's urban growth plans without a single shred of knowledge about it.

I get mad because Kuci does this **** all the time. He prances around like some kind of megalomaniac intellectual talking down to people. He deserves a smackdown for it.

Note how he hasn't said anything of substance. He can only say "it's complex!" while demonstrating know actual knowledge of the specifics.

      • The problem is that you don't have enough experience to see the issues at play.

To be clear, the only one of us who has lived internationally and has specifically lived in the city in question and has decades of knowledge of its situation has not enough experience in this discussion? Is that correct?

Does Kuci really need this fanclub?

It's getting tedious. 3 people saying the same thing is just spam.

Please coordinate amongst yourselves and post accordingly.

Right, it's because your point of view is so narrow. It's not your fault; your education didn't prepare you with the kind of general knowledge you need to understand these things fully.

I went to a real university that emphasized critical thinking skills, etc. instead of just job training.

                  So sad, Kuci...

By the way, the reason you're an idiot is this is EXACTLY WHAT THE CITY IS DOING.

The current mayor is frequently branded as a "liberal" by many for his spending habits. He's doing things like extending the LRT lines to areas which don't yet have the population to support them but are projected to within the next 20 years. He's doing things like acquiring extra land around intersections for major roads so they can cheaply be upgraded to interchanges as the volume necessitates. He's fast tracking other projects, and putting pressure on the province to complete the SW portion of the ring road. Why do you think he raised the taxes?

He's doing what you are apparently suggesting, but you don't have any idea since you have no ****ing idea what Calgary is up. Add to the fact your constant smarmy comments about how I just don't know enough and it's not my fault...give me a ****ing break. You're a tool.

                    • It's too bad that he didn't have the opportunity go to an elite American university where he could get a well-rounded education in these matters while living in a new environment where he could get experience with a different culture and location.

Note the double irony because that's exactly what the Mayor of Calgary did when he got his Masters in Public Policy from Harvard.

He also lacks the worldy experience of Kuciwalker, what with being the son of Tanzanian immigrants, living in several major cities and getting graduate degrees from elite American universities on public policy.

Clearly it's not enough, because the southeast portion is missing too.

It's been under construction a while.

                            Fall 2013 it completes.

                              • So first you tell Ben that Calgary is being fiscally conservative by not having a beltway (ring road), and now you're telling us that it's spending taxpayer dollars in a very progressive-esque fashion to building one?
