I have a great new idea.

Take all the foreign aid we give to Egypt and send it to Israel.

Take all the foreign aid we give to Pakistan and send it to India.

That should send a message to our "allies."

**** right wing. There are a LOT of very angry Americans this morning.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

It is the responsibility of the nation to protect the embassies there.

Your grotesque generalization of all religious people was absurd, and I was making fun of it.

I'd argue that it is sacrificing our identity to a group or ideology that tends to bring out the worst in people. Whether you're a religious bigot, a soccer hooligan, or a bomb throwing Bolshevik, it's all the same human phenomenon. Organized religion isn't the cause of evil any more than organized sports are.

I think we should set absurd demands, like a ten billion dollar weregild or all their oil for a year. Then we'll just bomb them until they pay.

Of course we couldn't have a nice thread to remember the people who lost their lives in this horrible attack, no.

Why would anyone not seeking to justify the violence mention a crappy internet video when talking about an attack on what is ostensibly US soil? I don't care what imagined slight the rabble think justified it. Getting into this game of apologizing for what citizens post on the net or burn is a fools errand that only serves to legitimize their desire to look for more slights.

Why would they mention a crappy internet video when that crappy internet video was the spark that set off an attack which just killed 4 people?

Because it is irrelevant. If the government didn't do it, they have no business apologizing for it.

Which is why they didn't bloody apologize for it. Seriously, do you have difficulty with basic reading? Please quote this apology you've invented.

So if Piss Christ had caused people to burn down a museum, would it be right to blame the artist?

It's amazing how the fans of the party of personal responsibility seem to forget all that when people decide to do stupid, idiotic things that then lead to other peoples deaths. How many times now have things like this caused extremists to riot and take lives? Does that mean people shouldn't be allowed to condemn Islam? Hell no it doesn't, but when they take the decision to do something they know is inflammatory and will provoke a reaction, then they should have the balls to stand up and take responsibility for that action, which in this case is the deaths of 4 people.

What exactly do you want the government to say? Should they encourage people to insult Islam (in the process insulting millions of Maerican citizens too)?
