JAG lawyers are ****ty. The ones that actually do their jobs ("being an advocate for their client") get ****ty FITREPs.

You shouldn't get your data from JAG, the TV show.

          Savannah's not rural either.

I've been there a few times for work-related stuff. It sucks.

I thought the Marines didn't have JAGs, and used the Navy's?

No definitely not. They have lawyer marines, much less gay and much more rigorously trained.

My dad was 29 and mom 21 when they married. 40 years later and they're still happily together. Age (past age of consent issues) isn't really indicative of anything in a relationship.

I have no urge to denigrate your parents' relationship, however in general that relationship will be far less mature/deep/serious than one between two 25 or 30 year olds

You clearly have not seen A Few Good Men

And Wiglaf, 4 years ago, the Marine Corps introduced a college loan reimbursement program that paid like 1/3rd of your loans by adding an additional 6 months to your service obligation. That doesn't exist anymore. The USMC generally doesn't offer the benefits like bonuses, college loan repayment, etc. that other branches do. "We don't promise you a rose garden" and all that.
