That doesn't exist anymore. The USMC generally doesn't offer the benefits like bonuses, college loan repayment, etc. that other branches do. "We don't promise you a rose garden" and all that.
        Worst branch ever.

My parents had a 5 year age difference and they had a terrible relationship that wound up in divorce. I have no idea when they got married but my mother was 28 and father was 33 when I was conceived.

They don't need to offer anything to entice people to join. People are beating down the door to be Marines. Most definitely the most popular branch.

That's why they can afford to institute anti-tattoo policies and what not that restrict applicants further.

As you implicitly conceded there, the proper metric to judge by will not be age if you want to be accurate in your claims about a specific relationship.

That's because they're a honeypot for macho idiots and America is chock full of them.

When are you going to grow up and admit that you need to create a realistic career path for yourself?

So people who join the Marines are especially stupid?

There is no single external observable to judge by. Implicit in my statement was also the fact that they got engaged then broke up over not much at all. This is pretty normal when it comes to relationships between 30 year old hipster flakes and 22 year old women.

                            No.

When you go to GoArmy.com, the top of the page has sections you would expect on the career page of a corporation: "Careers & Jobs" and "Benefits". In fact, the other headlines are "About the Army", "Soldier Life" and "For Parents" Maybe they don't need as many people now so they're not advertising the bonuses as prominently but a few years ago, they would have big bold letters with $ values for signing bonuses for certain fields.

Go to Marines.com, however, and you see nothing about benefits or jobs. The headlines are "History & Heritage", "Eligibility", "Becoming a Marine", etc.

Completely different culture. You join the army to get paid and for skill training. You join the Marines to be a Marine.

Well my interview to be an investment accountant for BNY Mellon went really, really well but I haven't heard back from them yet.

So the army is a job that rewards you for the occupational hazards and the marines are a cult?
