Assuming I've got the right Fairfax County, those murder stats don't look too good.

Less than two murders per 100,000 people per year? Yes, they look excellent. Also, that's from 4-8 years ago. The most recent numbers are even lower.

A one in 100,000 variation in that population equates to 500 murders. 500 murders might seem like a figure so low that it doesn't matter to an American, but you're currently addressing a resident of the civilised world.

500 people in a population of 50 million can be pretty much written off, yes. If it bothers you to have a murder rate that high then your country is hopelessly pussified.

Just saw this movie. Not bad. I really liked the ending (but I've heard nothing is going to come of it). I will definately watch it again. Come to think of it, I will probably have a Nolen/Batman Marathon sometime in the future.

Also got to see the Hobbit preview. How much longer until they do the Silmarillion?
