One thing is sure though and that is he will no longer say Romney is a "corporate raider vulture capitalist".

The most important question though is what will your reaction be? Will you be an Ogie or DD who pretends to be thrilled even though they sit alone at night crying into their copy of "American Thinker" or will you be one of the millions of Democrats who can't stop giggling with glee over such a stupid choice?

The more important question is, what will you say when Obama loses the election?

Ben, she endorsed Romney in Dec. 2011. What are you talking about January of last year?

Then I guess I'm mistaken then I knew it was before 2012, so it was quite early in the process...

You have to get a picture from below her and to the side to make her look fat?

I do believe Palin proved a polarizing force in 08.
I would suggest that she definitely motivated a number of voters on both sides.

I think Palin is the exception that proves the rule. Has there ever been another VP that had a similar response - ever?

That made so many voters choose to vote for the other side? No, probably not.

What's funny is that McCain supposedly wanted Lieberman and was overruled. Don't know if that's actually true, but it wouldn't surprise me.

VPs are often chosen to shore up a weakness -- a specific swing state (or perhaps a region), voting bloc (women, youths, Latinos, etc), or youth/experience (as required). Sometimes to groom someone for 8 eight years later. Sometimes to reward the party faithful.

I agree that Palin was an outlier. If they had groomed her for another 4 years first, she might have been dangerous.

If McCain had Lieberman, I would have considered him. It was actually Palin which was the final nail on the coffin (I liked McCain for a Republican, still was unlikely to vote for him because of Republicans the last 12 years).

Never had a canadian sticker/etc on my backpack, the only people who think I am Canadian are on Apolyton.

Currently I live in Belgium, but previously I lived in Sweden.

Yes, I am American, I think I vote in Oregon this year (4 years ago it was Virginia).
