The basic jist, more or less, is that I met some actual Christians rather than the stereotype - people who just loved me for being a fellow person and who didn't care nor were judgemental about my atheism (actually it was kind of wierd - like why are you people so nice to me). I decided to be open to the possibility (which is all they really asked - no one was pressuring me to convert) and had what I'd call a religious experience - a feeling of overwhelming love and joy and thus began my journey.
'Tis the Readers Digest version. I also have fun stories of being in an uber-conservative Pentecostal Church and simultaneously (well, you know over the last year or so - I wasn't bending the laws of space and time) being an uber-liberal Lutheran Church (one with a gay pastor).
