OK, I stand corrected, for some reason I thought you were a muslim. Or did you stop being a muslim for a while, became an atheist and then found Christianity? As an atheist, what was it that made you become religious?

I was an atheist for like 8 freaking years. The vast majority of the time I've been posting on this site (which, unfortunately, has been since 1998).

I believe my "testimony", as it were, is somewhere on this site. It was a decent enough story that it convinced Ben I wasn't trolling . The basic jist, more or less, is that I met some actual Christians rather than the stereotype - people who just loved me for being a fellow person and who didn't care nor were judgemental about my atheism (actually it was kind of wierd - like why are you people so nice to me). I decided to be open to the possibility (which is all they really asked - no one was pressuring me to convert) and had what I'd call a religious experience - a feeling of overwhelming love and joy and thus began my journey.

'Tis the Readers Digest version. I also have fun stories of being in an uber-conservative Pentecostal Church and simultaneously (well, you know over the last year or so - I wasn't bending the laws of space and time) being an uber-liberal Lutheran Church (one with a gay pastor).

Playing stupid is unbecoming. The relationship between a minority group and a King is completely different from the relationship that God has with those who don't believe in him. A minority group obeys their king because they know that if they don't there will be consequences. People who don't believe in God simple do not worry at all about obeying him.

If he existed, there would be guildlines. You know, one central world religion, no more religious wars - that sort of thing... The fact is that no one has a ****ing clue, except for the parasites at the top of all the various splintered belief systems around the world feeding off the naive gullibility of morons like you.

To me that is the biggest arrogance of worshipping God there is - that you all basically choose the way to worship him and not the other way around. In fact some people (Imran) decide they don't want to worship him in a particular way and jump ships to a completely different belief system because it suits them better - maybe he fancied a bacon sandwich and found he could eat all the pork he wanted switching to Christianity!
