No. I'm suggesting that in the hypothetical (presented in the OP) where it is cheap and simple for parents to determine the sexual orientation of their children, choosing to make their children straight will probably provide those children with a happier life than otherwise.

OP suggests all homosexuality be genetically eradicated. I think there's a slight difference between this and parents being able to genetically modify their unborn kids, something which I wouldn't be opposed to.

If we were able to make genetic modifications to eradicate gays because they aren't as tolerated as non-gay people, where do we stop? Do we make everyone white then? Do we invent some kind of artificial womb and make everyone male?

Wouldn't it be easier to just try to make society more tolerant?
