It's as obvious that Britain stole the Falkland Islands from Argentina as it is that the United States stole California from Mexico. Stop being a revisionist douche.

They've lived there for almost 200 years and self determination of peoples has always been one of the principles of modern international law. Besides, the Argentine claim has always been spurious.

Why would a bunch of British colonists vote to become part of the country Britain stole the land from in the first place? That's about as likely as a gringo colonist like yourself voting to return California to Mexico.

Voting has begun. Any guesses on how many will vote to become part of Argentina?

The people of the Falkland Islands are heading to the polls on Sunday and Monday for a referendum on whether they wish to remain a British Overseas Territory.

The referendum takes place tomorrow. I wonder if, should the majority slip below 60%, the Argentine government will suddenly decide the views of the Islanders might be relevant after all?

It was best we eliminated them before evolution gave them the ability to fly. Sure, cancer sucks ... but at least it's not dog crap falling from the sky.

The cure for cancer was probably in those wolves.

Too bad they were hunted to extinction.

Researchers have found the answer to one of natural history's most intriguing puzzles -- the origins of the now extinct Falkland Islands wolf and how it came to be the only land-based mammal on the isolated islands -- 460 kilometers from the nearest land, Argentina.

Biologists, working with an ancient DNA sample, have solved the mystery of where the Falkland Islands Wolf came from. The wolf species was the world's smallest and the only one to specialize in hunting birds but sadly sheep farmers in the 19th century hunted it to extinction fearing it would harm their sheep. The wolf, which was about the size of a large fox, was an example of island dwarfism.

The launcher was dubbed ITB (Instalación de Tiro Berreta) by the Argentine personnel, which approximately means in Argentine slang "trashy firing platform".

Ground Force did an episode on the Falklands. I'm never going to be able to look at Alan Titchmarsh in the same light again!

Maybe they are pretending to be part of an HGTV production. DIY Falklands!
