I'm from Utah, that is east of where I was born. Nevada, Arizona and western Idaho is the midwest.

There might have been an attempted robbery in College Park near my home (group of black teens). I was quite drunk at the time, and hugged the person who said he had a gun, and stumbled home. I praise God for my safety.

You're right. That is, literally, unbelievable, because that is the most bull**** statistic I've seen in quite a while.

Sadly, Kleck's study, the one that claimed there were 2 million defensive gun uses (DGU) in America yearly, though so laughably easy to disapprove, still haunts us. If you goggle Kleck you can probably find a copy of it somewhere on the 'net. Be sure to scope out the crappy little tables giving the percentage of people in the survey who claimed to have fired their weapons during DGU, and the percentage of those firing their wepaons who claimed to have shot the "perp". I know you can do the math Guy, because you're a licensed physician. Pretty much everyone else in America, including all those Congresspersons who creamed themselves with joy over the report, not so much.
