Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
Jon Miller: MikeH is a shockingly revolting dolt and a masturbatory urine-reeking sideshow freak whose word is as valuable as an aging cow paddy.

Already convicted him without a trial?
Do you think he would get a fair trial in Afghanistan?
Do you believe that the U.S. Military, with the world looking down their back, would not conduct a fair trial?
Why has this instance almost changed your thinking? It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

How about the Hague Plato?
Also, we have an agreement with Afghanistan that U.S. soldiers will be tried in U.S. courts. It would be the first step in unfairness to single this soldier out."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

No. I was thinking more an international tribunal
I think it would probably be fair, but I don't know if it would be perceived that way.

The precedent it would set is, to me, the most dangerous part of that. This particular case may go as it is supposed to but what about the next one...."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

That's about the same amount of faith the Afghans will have in a US military tribunal.
You might as well withdraw the troops already. The battle for "hearts and minds" is truly lost."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

I suspect this soldier will get a perfectly fair trial in the military court. The afghans may not see it that way, but that is not the point of the trial. Nor should it be. That does tend to be the point of these international tribunals, however. They are as much or more about optics than justice. If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

You missed the point.

I'm talking about how the trial will be perceived by Afghans and you are going on about whether it will actually be fair or not and how ****ty the international tribunals are.
I don't know if the defendant will get a fair trial or not by a military tribunal (I'll leave others with more interest in that aspect of it to argue) but I do know how the process is seen by Afghans is most important to the military/political situation on the ground (the point of the thread, no?)."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow
