The higher authority in this instance ruled that she violated no law or ethical rule and recommended no further action be taken.

Bernhard Goetz might be a better model for this.

edit: The Simpson award was $33.5 million, the Goetz award was $43 million, BTW.

It was a woman reporting the disturbance. I'm not sure how good of a witness they would be. Dark outside and their description on the phone wasn't very detailed at all. I think it was in someone else's yard too. Just from what she said on the phone I would doubt she would be useful witness for anything other than what is recorded on the call anyways.

There was another where the guy was more descriptive (knowing it was a fight between 2 men) and could have had a better view. The fight was next to his back porch but he called later. He might be a much better witness.

For a second I thought you were being outrageously misogynistic.

                        • Evidence seems to be mounting that, at the very least, Martin was not a passive participant in the confrontation. He may have even been the aggressor. That said - and this is not a legal opinion - I still think Zimmerman is in the wrong because there would have been no confrontation whatsoever had he not been following Martin around with a gun for specious reasons.

Ah, so you can express an opinion. I lost a bet.

It's about the media trying to fan this into a racial incident, and that's what really has me bothered by all this. Zimmerman is still clearly in the wrong in my book, but that's no reason to turn it into something its not.

                              • I agree, theres more than enough racism in America already, without having to go looking for it here.
