They do, and they breed like rabbits. They are a much more important threat to the existence of Israel than Arabs, as they are a money drain, don't serve in the army, are a growing voting block and you can't kill use armoured dozers against them.

I've heard it before, and it makes no sense. Why don't the ultra-orthodox serve in the IDF?

Well, because they are smart about how to get out of service. IDF allows for deferment for serving if in Yeshiva (kinda like seminary training) and then you are exempt if married. Most ultra-Orthodox marry young and they are usually in Yeshiva during that time.

The ultra-orthodox parties have like five out of 120 seats or something like that in the Israeli parliament, but because Israel never has a majority government, major parties court their vote in the coalition by offering them goodies, much in the same way both major parties offer farm states goodies in order to collect senate votes.

They have 15 out of 120 seats, so that's a sizeable presence, especially compared to Shinui that has 0.

Not defending slavery, but the Bible does not present slavery being a good thing (even in the OT). The Bible also describes things such as the year of jubilee at which point all land returned to the family that originally owned it (this was the major source of wealth, I think) and all slaves were freed. Additionally, there was the sabbath years where hebrew slaves were freed.
