He's polling at 27.5% in Iowa, so 10% isn't quite the barrier you imagine it to be. There's a segment of the GOP that will never support Paul because he's insane. But there's also a segment that will never support Romney because he's Mormon. And some who will never support Gingrich because he's the epitome of sleaze. They are all irrelevant in the end. The greatest number of people are undecided.John Brown did nothing wrong.

WTF, why is this so volatile?Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Why do you think that singular examples somehow prove your point? Oh my God, Howard Dean! Holy ****, Mike Huckabee! None of these anecdotes prove that Ron Paul isn't a serious candidate. They just show what a lazy thinker you are. As if the circumstances today are a perfect match for the circumstances in those elections.
Besides, nobody is skipping Iowa. According to this AP story, Romney allies are spending about a million more in Iowa than Ron Paul is. Romney's strategy in Iowa is to manage expectations, and hope that New England will be friendlier turf. His strategy is sound, and it's exactly what I would go for if I were an opportunistic jackass running for President. It is not a surefire path to victory though. Significant chunks of the GOP do not trust Mitt Romney.
Enthusiastic support matters. Momentum coming out of Iowa matters. Acting like these are irrelevant might be trendy and hip among smug urban lefties, but it only shows how shallow your understanding really is.John Brown did nothing wrong.

It's not that Ron Paul isn't a serious candidate because he can't win Iowa. He isn't a serious candidate because he's so far out there that he could not win. Maybe he can win in Iowa, but he can't win in other important states like Florida. Honestly, Iowa is not a predictor anymore. Sure, he might get some "momentum", but if Mike Huckabee (who is WAY more mainstream and popular and electable than Ron Paul) can grab Iowa and not get anywhere else, what can we hope for Ron Paul?If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?
