Between the religious right and the Tea Party, seems you have to toe the line on these issues to be considered a true Repub these days.

I wonder how swift and severe the inevitable and transparent smear campaign will be. And how many Americans will see it for what it is.

The reason the race is so volatile - they don't know which candidate is secretly Obama.

All they have to do is show Ron Paul as a libertarian and that should be enough for most Americans to recoil.

But they already know he's a Republican.

I wouldn't mind seeing Paul win Iowa. It would be good to mix up the race.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Indeed many Americans are afraid of freedom. But many are also waking to the establishment's bull**** narrative that a controlled, collective, totalitarian society is better than a free one.

Paul victory in Iowa = even smoother sailing to a Romney victory. I approve

Btw, this sort of ridiculous rhetoric, that the current US society is akin to Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany (what do you think totalitarian means?) makes people recoil from libertarians.

If Ron Paul could tone down the wacky he'd have a legitimate shot at winning the nomination. Won't get a better shot than right now. Of course, he won't.

I can't help but wonder how many of you brave libertarian types would actually survive in your utopian world free from society and government 'interference'..

Sounds like he's a nutcase like Bachmann. Or are all Republicans this ridiculous?
There are a handful of them who aren't complete nutjobs (Huntsman comes to mind) but the vast, vast majority of them are that ridiculous. In fact, the few who aren't ridiculous clowns get labeled a "RINO" (Republican In Name Only) because they're not chanting the same nonsense.

If you support Romney then you shouldn't be too happy. Wins in Iowa and/or NH will only make Paul more confident so when the party elite succeed in pushing Romney on everyone Paul will no doubt feel more confident then ever about making a 3rd party run. He won't win but he'll likely pull enough right wing voters away from Romney to insure Obama's reelection by a good margin. It will be like a repeat of Ross Perot in 1992.

Per usual Poly's left responds with lots of personal attacks and zero arguments.

Hello... I'm a lefty and I think Paul is great! I don't like most of his policies, but he is in favour of dumping lobbyists... this is America's only chance to not become more of a weird corporate owned government. If only he and Obama could agree on that and bring their parties on side, the US might stand a chance.
