If Ron Paul could tone down the wacky he'd have a legitimate shot at winning the nomination. Won't get a better shot than right now. Of course, he won't.

There are a handful of them who aren't complete nutjobs (Huntsman comes to mind) but the vast, vast majority of them are that ridiculous. In fact, the few who aren't ridiculous clowns get labeled a "RINO" (Republican In Name Only) because they're not chanting the same nonsense.

If you support Romney then you shouldn't be too happy. Wins in Iowa and/or NH will only make Paul more confident so when the party elite succeed in pushing Romney on everyone Paul will no doubt feel more confident then ever about making a 3rd party run. He won't win but he'll likely pull enough right wing voters away from Romney to insure Obama's reelection by a good margin. It will be like a repeat of Ross Perot in 1992.

Hello... I'm a lefty and I think Paul is great! I don't like most of his policies, but he is in favour of dumping lobbyists... this is America's only chance to not become more of a weird corporate owned government. If only he and Obama could agree on that and bring their parties on side, the US might stand a chance.
