All the gods had a meeting on Mount Olympus where it was decided that the ratio of men to women should be approximately 1:1 even though the ratio of gods to goddesses appears to be 7:5. Very strange.

The results there would have been skewed by the male deities' mating habits, which makes it a poor investment to produce daughters if you're an Olympian.
