Is that why it's called Boxing Day? I knew it had something to do with fisticuffs.
    John Brown did nothing wrong.

He's gone 'native'. Our New Jersey Pakistani-American has turned into a southerner.

Black Friday's deals are on cheap crap to get you in the store. The better prices on quality items will be in about 1-2 weeks including toys. Then depending on inventory, the price could go up or down as retailers are trying to move it out before the 25th.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

The US government is famously dysfunctional because the minor policy issues are inflated to seem like massive chasms in philosophical differences. Then your government just becomes a bunch of bickering little schoolgirls who can't decide on anything. Every time.
This is true. At least in a Parlimentary system the party which wins elections is free to govern while in the US we get... Well, exactly what we have gotten over the last three year. One Party won but the minority party literally blocks everything (over 98% of proposals including most proposals they campaigned on and said they supported) while even going so far as actively trying to make the economy crash just because they think it will give them an election advantage. Yes, can it be any more obvious both parties think Americans are stupid. I can't say they're wrong.

Considering Canadian thanksgiving dates back to 1578 and America's only 1621, isn't it more correct to say the Americans got it wrong?

Americans were thankful for the harvest, Canadians were thankful they got the hell out of Britain (and more importantly, survived the long journey with its perils of storms and icebergs).

Actually, Jamestown had thanksgivings earlier and oftener than Plymouth, but Jamestown got swept under the carpet because it also had slaves earlier and oftener than Plymouth.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

It started as a celebration of slave labour.

No, that's not where it comes from. How the **** does that even make any sense?
