Personally, I refuse to go shopping on Black Friday no matter how good the deals are simply because it has just gotten too crazy. Even if there isn't violence (and all too often there is) it's still nuts with dumb asses waiting in line 2-3 days before the sale just so they can be first in line when the doors open the day of the sale. Then there is stuff like this:

People getting robbed and shot by disgruntled shoppers unhappy the other guy got the door buster deal before they did & another person pepper sprays over a dozen people just so she can get the lead in the mad dash for sale items.

Last night when we were driving home from the girlfriend's parent's house I drove past the local Best Buy and saw the line went all the way around the building for their midnight sale and it was only 7pm. WTF? This **** is just too crazy for me.

The door busters do look good though. Best Buy has things like a 42" Plasma HDTV for $199 or a new X-Box with all the add ons & a couple of games tossed in for $150.

Another Wal-Mart customer robbed and shot but this time in San Leandro, CA. I'd especially avoid Wal-mart on Black Friday as it seems to attract all the petty thugs who own a gun.

BTW the LA Times has some oldie but goodies from Black Fridays of years past. A 300 person mass brawl which was so big and so violent the manager had to close the store just a few minutes after opening because the brawlers were destroying his shelves and merchandise.

Today, also in a Wal-Mart, but this time in the video games section. It looks like a lot of them were grown men fighting over video games.



Mean while in the same store all the young mothers started fighting over cheap baby clothes.
