  • Why does google chrome suck so much?

And why do people actually use it? I can only conclude that its user base is composed of hippies and Obama supporters. Firefox

I have not used Google Chrome much, but welcome back.

The memory leaks are much better now. It's true, FF had serious memory leaks for a while there, but I'm using 8.0 now and I don't even notice them anymore. That being said, IE 9 and Chrome both have them too. At least FF isn't in a perpetual beta.

Mozilla released the hotly-anticipated Firefox 7 two days ago. Does it deliver on the promise of speed and memory improvements? Does Firefox 7 have what it takes to dethrone current Web Browser Grand Prix champion, Google Chrome? Read on to find out!

Interesting! I stopped using Firefox a while back because of memory issues, but now I'm hooked on Chrome because it uses the least amount of screen.

I dislike chrome. It's far too barebones. It seems like in the effort to make it as simplistic as possible they ended up just making it idiotic and missing functionality.

I don't understand why they have to highlight text fields in gold and ****. Not to mention that getting a site to work with Firefox and IE 9 is much easier than Chrome. Some stuff in Chrome just isn't fixable.

They reduce the memory usage in Firefox 7 by 40-50%. They've got like 7 people working full-time on memory optimizations now...

Does Chrome really use less space than FF4/5/6/7? They seem completely identical...

Chrome has the omnibar (which I love) and the tabs. Firefox, last I checked, has the URL bar, the tabs, and a row of menu items.

You do realize that you can customize the UI of Firefox?

Only on XP (by default). The menu is optional on all, off by default on everything but XP.

I use both on a regular basis, but I actually prefer Firefox's "AwesomeBar" to Chrome's "OmniBar". It just has more relevant actions for me, usually.
