Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
While, like the US, they are prone to excessive self-congratulation and arrogance, their lack of power and relatively weak position on the world stage makes those things appear considerably more ridiculous, at least to us. Plus their tendency to pass petty laws/regulations in the name of "protecting French culture." Such as the headscarf ban, which was clearly less about security than about squicky Islam, and now this ban on a condiment. Not a food, a condiment, and with the exception that students can pollute vulgar American "French" fries with it all they want. While we may mock France more than they deserve in general, how is this not absurd?
Uh, the U.S. does have a culture. It may be a vulgar, stupid culture in some ways, but it definitely has one, and it's exporting it overseas with great success. Including in France, where they react by defending themselves against the ketchup menace instead of blocking out our big, dumb American entertainment complex.
It's total ****ing junk! Whenever I pass one I laugh at the obese ****s inside! Probably the most hilarious example of this was watching all the braindead mouth breathers scoffing down their **** at the one opposite the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, which is probably one of the best food markets in the world... What a bunch of sad ****ing losers!
Anyone who regularly eats McDs should be shot on the grounds of bad taste!
Good grief. Mobius unreservedly praised something Australian... I do find it odd, however, that when people go abroad they should seek out McDonalds or Pizza Hut franchises.
Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.
...patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone. Edith Cavell, 1915

Exactly. Its populist appeals takes away the need to defend it.
The idea of McDonald's being "bad" always has amused me. It isn't great cuisine, but at worst, its decidedly average. There are far more disgusting foods out there than McD's.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

I completely agree with you there. I spent three months in Thailand and sought out local food at every chance but I saw other westerners packing in to KFC, Burger King, and McDonald's. I mean what's the point of traveling if you're unwilling to try the local cuisine? You can stay at home and stuff your pie hole with that **** while Thailand has possibly one of the best national cuisines in Asia.

Perhapos the ketchup is a tactic to divert French attention while the American culture of vulgarity and stupidity quietly pervades France?
Actually you're the one probably chowing down on mechanically recovered bull's cocks and testicles, AKA 'meat'. That's the reason they call it 'junk' food - you're eating bull's junk!
Mmmm, when they mean 100% pure beef patties, they mean 100% of the bull was used...!
"Mechanically separated chicken" is worse and that's what you get in just about all processed chicken pieces (McNuggets, Chicken patties, etc...). They literally just defeather the bird then throw it in a grinder with guts, bones, eyes, beak, feat, intestines, and all. You definitely get chicken **** mixed in there. It comes out of the grinder a sickly pink-red color because they didn't bleed or gut the chickens first then they have to soak it in bleach to kill all the bacteria before finally adding food coloring & artificial flavors so no one gags on it. Google the term if you don't believe me.

Contrary to what is claimed above, the process does not involve the grinding up of entire animal carcasses ("bones, eyes, guts, and all") into one large, amorphous glob of meat; it is a technique for removing what is left on the bones of a carcass after all other processing has been completed. (Also, although meat packing plants typically use anhydrous ammonia for refrigeration purposes, with ammonia leakages having on occasion caused contamination issues at such plants, and sometimes introduce additional ammonium hydroxide into meat as an antibacterial agent, poultry processors do not routinely "soak" MSP in ammonia.)
(Although McDonald's Chicken McNuggets are typically offered as an example of a popular MSP-based food, since 2003 that product has been made with all white meat rather than MSP.)
The only McD's is relatively better now is because of all the activist groups that threatened to put them out of business with their embarrassing exposés. Did you eat their **** before 2003?

He was entirely wrong about mechanically separated chicken, dip****.
