No, definitely it is your ignorance.

Did you know about Pixar studios? Toy Story et al?
You have never heard of iPod, iPhone, iPad?
You didn't know that he saw them go from near collapse to being one of the largest companies in the world, larger than Microsoft?

Unlike most CEOs, he was worth his salary.

Apple is absolutely not my thing, but it's a unique company that comes with a unique philosophy and unique products.
Steve Jobs is one of the greatest men in the history of ICT.

I wonder how much his illness already affected the launch of the 4s which is absolutely the first new product apple launched in years that's already absolete before it's on sale. It will be sad if Apple will lose it b/c the industry will lose if one of the biggest competitors fades away.

If I had apple stocks I would dump them right now.

The funniest tasteless joke I read today: "do you know the difference between Steve Jobs and Steve Jobs Jokes? Some day Steve Jobs Jokes will get old..."

I can appreciate the passion for this mans death, but this is too much.

"He was kind of like this generation's John Lennon," said Frank Arico, 58, a software developer visiting San Francisco for the Oracle OpenWorld conference this week.
Molly Haksdoyle , a 35-year-old clothing store owner from Palo Alto, Calif., added that she started crying when the news hit the transom.

Is this a joke about his $1 annual salary?

                          1. I like how you know how much CEOs at most companies are worth, despite your field being physics
                          2. Yes, because didn't he eschew a salary?
