Indeed. The vast majority of people don't need them. Technically I don't "need" one either. But I drive my 2wd Mazda3 in the winter...and it's not fun. It's doable, but it's a lot more dangerous. And I drive only 8km to work, my SO may need to drive 30+. I'd prefer he have an SUV.

My car was described by Top Gear magazine as "perfect for people who just want any car".

I don't have to look at the outside. The inside is nice enough.

And FYI, it's modeled on an alligator. The hood is to look like an alligator's eyes peering out of the water at its prey.

So other than everyone thinking the Juke is ugly, which one should I pick? No one is voting.

I'm likely going to end up with the Rogue...

I'd go for the Rogue (based purely on your comments)

That's 100% of the vote. Decided.

Videos of the Juke interior & exterior:

But the torque-vectoring AWD is the coolest part. Normally this is only on luxury cars:

The RAV4 looks nicer. And next year an electric drive-train will be offered...
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

The RAV4 is lower on my list simply for resale value. There's an all-new RAV4 coming in 2013, which will pretty much instantly tank the resale value of the prior ones. The Rogue and Forester just got a refresh in 2011 and the Juke is all new.

I'm looking at 2011 models because all of these cars are 100% identical in 2012 & 2011, but you can get $5000 off or more for taking a 2011 off the lot.

                        Honda's CR-V doesn't make the list?

My CR-V is old ('98), but still handles snow and speed bumps better than my friends' cars. I can't fathom why they took the back tire off and moved it to the bottom. It's like having a giant rubber bumper on the ass end of your car.
                        John Brown did nothing wrong.

There's a new 2012 CR-V coming which means the 2011 will become devalued instantly and the 2012 will be hard to find and with zero discounts for a long time.

And the last time I drove a CR-V (a 2009 model), the road noise was loud and the handling somewhat sad.

Plus, there's certain stereotypes here that I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I wish to avoid. Here, CRV stands for [ethnicity] Recreational Vehicle. When 80% of the drivers of a car are of a certain race, it's somewhat odd...

You are aware of the fact that the Juke apparently shares basic tech with Renault Clio ? A french "car"

The adjustments possible in the drivers seat are also a bit reduced, so unless your SO is built like a japanese, he might have trouble.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

At least we don't all insist upon driving cars that look like small, insecure men on steroids.
