There are a lot of different beliefs in Christianity, some of you seem to think that all Christians believe one way or to be mixing and matching different beliefs (or misconceptions of different beliefs), some of which are not held by the same people.

Actually, this is somewhat true.

There are people who do not hate people of other races but think that people from their race should just marry people from their race.

But this doesn't have anything to do what what I referred to. For one, marriage was never (excepting for some small time in some small parts of america/etc) between two people of the same race. There has always been interracial marriage as a component of marriage in traditional european society. So quit being intellectually dishonest.

Marriage in european society was a traditional bond between a man and a woman for the sharing of life together and often the raising of children together. Obviously gay marriage is not part of this definition of what this was/is.

We could as easily say that 'marriage should be a legal recognition that a person of the opposite sex is your progeny and that they will inherit from you'. Obviously this is also something else.

The issue is that marriage has already changed from it's traditional definition. Additionally, we have a small fraction of society (<10%) who wish to engage in homosexual relationships (many of whom have no satisfaction from heterosexual relationships). As such we might want to change our definition to:
A bond between two people uniting together to share life together and often the raising of children.

But this is by no means a change that everyone who is not homophobic must make!

It's fine if a black person would be personally against marrying a white person. But it would be wrong for that black person to publicly oppose all interracial marriages, and try to meddle/intervene in that respect, in other people's lives.

I think that sleeping around is wrong, I think open relationships are wrong.

I think that cheating is very wrong.

Since I think these things, I am quite vocal about them. I don't just say 'I don't do them myself, but it is fine for others to do what they want'.

This doesn't mean that I hate cheaters, it doesn't mean that I hate people in open relationships, and so on. I am even friends with such people.

You seem to have difficulty with this concept. But I understand that it is easier for you to demonize your opponents instead of reasoning with them.

I'm still wondering why gribbler is such a homophobe in pointing out (as if it were something especially egregious) that the affair in question was homosexual in nature.
