Didn't the tobacco industry convince people for decades that tobacco is safe? Maybe he was drawing parallels between tobacco companies and oil companies or something. It's all about him isn't it.

Anyway back to the topic of this thread: For people who don't know this was not a normal election but a recall election where a few politicians who got elected in 2010 so pissed off their constituents that hundreds of thousands signed petitions demanding they be immediately removed from office, thus the special recall election to see if that should happen and if the guy/gal is removed then who should take his place. It not surprising that most incumbents won (I.E. they were not recalled) most of the time but enough lost in the lower house that Republicans went from the majority to the minority while the state Senate had 6 senators facing recall (all Republicans); 3 kepts themselves in office (I.E. they were not recalled), two were removed from office and replaced by Democratic challengers, and one race is still being contested. That final contest will decide which party controls the state senate.

            FTFY.

The two who lost were in Dem leaning districts. So at best, a small minority of people were unhappy with two of their senators.

Now, we'll see if they get two more back next week with the democrat senators face recall.

It's got nothing to do with the constituents, but everything about big labor being unhappy about Gov. Walker's changes. Heaven forbid that they actually collect from their members voluntarily, rather then forcing the state to deduct wages to feed the unions.

I may be mistaken but don't the petitions have to be signed by constituents? So the recall elections were in fact requested by constituents?

Ben, I know you're stupid but inserting "Obama" was dumber then usual even for you.

                1) One was a 55-45 district favoring the Dems while the other was leaned the opposite way by about the same amount.

                2) If 44%-48% is a "tiny minority" to you then you're a drooling idiot because that's how close the other three were to passing.

So despite spending millions and millions of dollars and branding the entire election as a referendum on union reform, the unions can't even recall three state senators in liberal districts?

You really think the Wisconsin situation is an exercise in common sense?

I can objectively say both sides were ****ing morons and provided their electorate a glorious disservice.
