Television news is a joke these days.

What's really weird is the only show that seems to have any real journalism vibe to it is Dan Rather Reports on HDNET...

The more time passes since an Israeli invasion of Lebanon or some Intifada, the worst CNN gets, a war would do them good

I'd say it's better than the other two. Fewer letters means that when you talk about how much they suck you can do so more efficiently.

Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Egypt... lots of action in all of those countries... check out Al Jazeera.
If I'm watching news with friends, its usually MSNBC. I haven't watched FOXNews is many years and rarely watch more than a few minutes of CNN without losing interest.
I still watch BBC News & CBC occasionally.
If I want news outside of Canada, I usually go to Al Jazeera, or watch The Colbert Report.

                Yes.

Not that it counts for much.

I haven't gone to Fox or MSN, but lord knows CNN is daft. Thank goodness for economist.com--especially the blogs, which don't require a subscription to read.

It's better than MSNBC, but only because MSNBC is below the bottom of the barrel.

@ al jazeera. Wow, that explains a ton.

Al Jazeera is actually a fairly credible and professional news source. I'm not joking when it's certainly far less biased than Fox News, and it is certainly far more of an actual NEWS source rather than spin source.

What exactly makes it more of a joke than Fox News?

And how have you seen it?

This reeks of a knee-jerk reaction. The English language version is fairly credible. Certainly far more so than Fox News ever was or will be. It's not even close.

The fact that Fox News' biases tend to align with your own doesn't make it a credible news source. It means they say what you want to hear, while Al Jazeera may not.
