So far 7 confirmed killed, 10 seriously injured in the bomb blast. There may still be wounded and killed people inside the bombed buildings. 10 confirmed killed and at least 22 seriously injured in the shooting at the youth camp. These numbers are expected to increase. The suspected shooter has been arrested. He is a native Norwegian and was dressed in a police uniform. There are reports indicating the same person was observed in the city shortly before the bomb blast, so at the moment it seems possible he is responsible for both attacks.

Eyewitnesses describing the shooter as tall and blonde. Probably not many of those in Al-Qaeda or Libyan forces.

Have authorities discovered the motivation for the attack?

It is only speculation at this point. The suspect is being interrogated, but I doubt any details will be released until at least tomorrow and possibly several days from now. Considering his background, Islamic terrorism seems much less likely. The choice of targets, particularly the youth camp of the governing Labour party, indicates a political motivation. There are unconfirmed rumours that the suspect has connections to right-wing extremist organizations.

I heard on the CBC that the killer spoke with a 'central' Norwegian accent, and was tall blonde and quite young, according to witnesses. Apparently Norway has home grown 'black shirt' youth anarchists. While police are silent on the matter, the main theory is the killer was one of them.

If you consider 32 quite young, you're probably right Sorry, still more norwegian

It sounds like he's a nutcase republican christian fanatic like the Oklahoma bomber.

I don't think Tim McVeigh could be properly described as "republican".

The fact that he was a registered Republican disagrees with this assertion.

He was a Christian, registered republican, and member of the NRA...

                              80 people? My sympathies.
