In most cases, the threat of suicide is just a cry for attention. If people always respond, it just reinforces the behavior.
You are not responsible and should avoid being manipulated by her. Whatever happens, it won't be because of something you did. So ignore and continue to run in the other direction.

Probably not the case with her. Way back when we were best friends, she was frequently suicidal but never let on to any one but me. Rather than cry out for attention, she hid her feelings and attempted to convince those around her that she was fine. Now is decidedly different, in that she's freely admitting to her family that she is ****ed up and in serious need of help.

Yes, clearly, she wanted my attention back then. But she wouldn't have put up with all of my **** if all she wanted from me was attention. There were plenty of stable guys she could have cried to.

First of all, second ex isn't back in my life. I haven't even seen her since before I broke up with her, which was four and a half years ago. And second of all, current girlfriend also thinks that first ex is an awesome person.

Err... I'm friends with one (1) of my ex-girlfriends, whom I broke up with nearly 8 years ago. She's an awesome person, and we had a great relationship (until the end, obviously), and we still enjoy each other's company. The idea that I need to cut her out of my life is ridiculous.
