Why? Opposition to abortion, opposition to homosexuality, opposition to contraception, opposition to divorce. The Catholics are the only ones who hold to all four and thus incur the wrath of partisans in favor of all four.
You do realize that's not really "evidence", right?

I can make a list too!! Opposition to evolution, Literal view of the Bible - Baptists hold both views and thus incur the wrath of partisans in favor of evolution and against a literal view of the Bible and Catholics don't!

Yeah, usually it's the people who think the Earth was created 6000 years ago and people walked around with dinosaurs and want this taught in science class who get the most criticism from atheists. Catholics usually don't have those nutty beliefs, it's usually Evangelicals.

How so? Are you arguing that the fact that the Catholic church opposes contraception isn't a reason they attract significant criticism over churches that do allow contraception?

I can make a list too!!
        Ok.

        Opposition to evolution
        Galileo!

        Literal view of the Bible
        Ooh, Latin!

        Rebuttal to both duly noted.

Resistance to the use of the Vernacular is another point of opposition that I would argue overshadows biblical literalism. Also, many Catholic ascribe to a literalist view although not inerrantist. They just elevate the role of tradition to being on par with scripture. Arguing that people shouldn't interpret scripture without the guidance of the magisterium is another repudiation of modernism.

Protestantism for the most part is very much a part of the whole modernism thing.

If by "love" you mean "threaten to beat up," then sure

              • I used to have a friend who was so certain of himself being a cool, laid-back person UNLESS.... Maybe it's the same with peacefulness of Catholicism: just don't get in their way

Exactly. Look at who Dawkins and ilk reserve most venom for - its those that deny evolution and don't want it taught in science class.

By your logic, the sixties weren't a great creative period, since the Beatles' number-one-hits collection "One" didn't come out until the nineties or so.
Bear in mind you're debating with someone who thinks that two of Englands greatest monarchs 'ruined' England simply because they were not Catholic. Logic and reason left the discussion long ago.

                      • Actually I think George III was a fine king. Or perhaps you meant Victoria? I don't see how anyone can have a 'greatest English Kings and Queen list without her on it.

                        • Tell you what, Kentonio. I'll do a poll and I'll prove to you that even Apolyton won't rate the tudor monarchs highly.

Logic and reason left as soon as Ben, a proud proponent of violence, started claiming that Catholicism is a religion of peace

You are so utterly intellectually dishonest you posted a pill without any Tudor Monarchs on it. And you knew what you were trying to do when you did it - you just were stupid about it.
