    • Ah. I was thinking of that as more religious phobia than racial, but as my own example demonstrated, there is substantial overlap. Just in case you didn't know, the Obama-is-a-Muslim crowd are objects of public derision over here on the rare occasion that we deign to notice them. Sadly, enough morons agree with them that they aren't out of a job yet. Also, I think they have a certain amount of TP support.

      • Same situation with the politicians over here.

        • Ben descents to even greater levels of moronic-ness I've ever witnessed. Mad King George III loved the colonies so let them go? What in the...

          • I think I should also mention that the pigheadedness inherent to two-party elections, at least in this country, rarely allow a politician to be booted simply for bigoted remarks, unless they're against Israel which has us by the balls for reasons I've never been at all clear on. With that one exception, a politician can say all sorts of ignorant crap, and his supporters may become less fervent, but they're not going to switch support to the opposition unless the remark touches them personally--which it usually doesn't, because such politicians tend to rely on a (cough) somewhat homogenous voter base for some reason. Even if they don't like the candidate's views about The Blacks, or The Mexicans, or The Muslims, they can't in good conscience support his socialist, gun-grabbing baby-killer of an opponent.

Uhm... in his life, this man surely had people arbitrarily executed.

BK, I say this in the most honest, non-trolling way possible. I know that in your heart, you truly believe you are a good, Christian human being. I think you believe in God. I think you believe in a universal "goodness".

So how... how on Earth... how on God's green Earth could George III (or any other King) be considered a "good" person.

Ordering a person's death is murder.

That man is in hell. Satan is stabbing his balls with red hot pokers (if there is a God in heaven, that is) as we speak.

So explain this to me. And don't give me any of this deathbed confession bull****. That **** don't fly.
To us, it is the BEAST.

The P word is about the same as the N word in the US. It's completely beyond the pale for anyone to use it. There might be some pockets of racists left who still use it but that's about it.
What? What do you call Tajiks, Kazakhs, or Uzbeks? If somebody from Pakistan isn't a Paki, what are they? And if they didn't want to be called Paki, why'd they call their country Pakistan? The name was made up by the Muslims in the 20th century, it's not like it was imposed on them from outside. How can it be so offensive?

Because over time words take on meanings beyond their original intent. The P word became used as a derogatory insult and was recognized by everyone over here as such. I assume it's not the same in the US because I've heard several Americans use it as shortform for Pakistani, but it's seriously not a word you want to use over here unless you want to be branded as a racist.

                          • I can show you Niger and Nigeria, do those count?

The word derives from negro/niger (i.e. "black"), yet go figure that black people tend to be more upset of you call them "******s" than if you call them "black people." What a bunch of over-sensitive politically correct nonsense amirite

                            • Niger and Nigeria are both named after the Niger River, not the people who live there.
