The Silverado/Sierra is under consideration but i will have to check when they started doing hybrids since I haven't seen SFA in the way of used hybrids being offered for sale.

Lower numbers of units (I assume-- I have no data for this though) plus only 2 years would certainly explain an absence in the resale markets ( Plus when I search I limit by price and a two year old hybrid would probably be higher than I am looking

I have a Dodge, a lot of problems, don't get one.
My Quad cab is good but cuts into your bed size.

I wouldn't buy a car/truck right now because many of the production lines are down or running at half speed due to parts shortages caused by the Japanese earthquake. That means the prices are very high for the few new cars which are on dealer lots. Wait 6 months to a year and you'll get a much better deal.

1. I am mainly looking at used vehicles-- I haven't seen any blip there

2. waiting any longer than 2 months would not meet my needs (towing a seadoo, bringing loads of furniture and supplies to outfit our cabin at our rec property

OK, if you're going used then I'd look at a Toyota 4Runner with the V8 option so you can tow 5000 lbs though their V6 might be able to do that albet without as much vigor. For the best deals often the discontinued brand names sell at big discounts used so a Hummer H3 (a shortened Chevy Suburban) would likely be a pretty good deal in the $18k-$25k price range for a 2-4 year old one. It will have a large Chevy V8 so they'll be powerful for towing and are rock solid.

I'm going to pre-empt Alby here and explain why he got it: He ended up getting a full ride scholarship to his school of choice so he used his saved-up cash to buy a car.
