There are all sorts of people who could fill that role, people that are both more likely to fill that role AND that viewers are already familiar with.

      Spoiler:
I'm wagering they're Bran, Jon, and Dany. Less certain about the former than the latter two.
      Spoiler:
Dany is obviously one, Jon is more than likely one as R+L=J, but Bran is obviously not one. That just leaves Aegon though the theory that Aegon is really a decedent of a blackfire Targarian (from the cheese monger's wife) is an interesting theory. Wasn't there also a prophecy at that wizard's tower which told Dany there would be a false dragon?

      • Not much point in tagging spoilers if you can't spell "spoiler."

        • I'd rather the three heads thing just be misdirection, though I know it won't be. It's a stupid plot device.

            • It seems Martin is finally getting serious about writing the winds of winter as just yesterday, at Comicon, he said he will not be writing an episode for season five of game of thrones as he has to devote all of his time to writing the next book. He even said "people are getting antsy". It is nice to see he is no longer putting a bunch of other stuff in front of finishing TWOW.

              • Pretty sure it's not going to matter at this point; the series will pass him, there's not much question of that now.

                • He can definitely get TWOW out before the series passes that point but there is no way he's going to get book seven out on time. Still, a few pages back in this thread I was complaining about how GRRM kept putting tons of new projects in front of TWOW so I'm just happy the guy has FINALLY said "Oh, ok... I guess I actually do sort have to get down to writing this thing."

                  • Have any of you watched Full Metal Alchemist (series finished before Manga) and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (series redone after Manga completed)? Maybe there will be a GoT remake after GRRM finishes the books.

                      • If someone steps in and finishes it, most people wouldn't care that he died.

Actually, our perspective on death is very consistent.

It is unfortunate when someone else dies. It's a tragedy when I die.

So, if the show is cutting out...
                                Spoiler:
Aegon, doesn't that mean Varys is just kind of a jerk?
