    I believe, as others have pointed out, it is fantasy . Some fantastical elements will make their way into the story. I don't necessarily see it as a cop out, if the author can kill that person another way just as easily.

    I like Tyrion... but everyone else's pure love for him makes me pull away a bit. I think he wouldn't be my favorite anyways.

    I liked Ned, Jon, and Arya... and later Jaime. Oh, and Brenne.

    And Tyrion.

    I just finished book two. My favorite character so far is tyrion. There is just something engaging about a very clever dwarf who has his own type of honor but is also brave, ruthless and an unabashed bedder of whores.

    I contrast him with most of the Starks whose phrase should be " honorable but dumb"


    I found the second book seemed to go more into mystical type stuff than book one. I'm not sure I like that so much. It just seems a cop out if the author can just have some key and well protected character killed off by a shadow or a demon

    I'm thinking I might go to comic con (if I can get tickets) just so I can meet George R. R. Martin. It's interesting that the TV adaption has kept relatively true to the book series plus Martin himself writes one of the episodes per season just to keep them honest.

    I like her boobs errr I mean character as well. In fact I endorse the gratuitous showing of boobs as often as possible(so long as it is consistent with the story
