    • So like 3 miles in 18 minutes should procure classic cross country vomits.

I run on as much of an empty stomach as possible. I did this run 0830 with no breakfast, after evacuating my bowels twice.

        • I'm only at 3 miles/30 minutes.

of course I only started running about 2 weeks ago, so that's not bad.

            Nice.

Actually running often makes me want to evacuate so I do prefer it if I am cleared through before it

The range of 27-33 minutes for 3 miles is sort of the standard, yes I can run for 3 miles, situation.

I have a hard time getting out of it, and often don't even try. It does take focus/work to do better.

              • Jon, I improved my 3 mile time from 23:00 to 20:59 in exactly 2 months. I kept a log of every run. Would you like me to post it? You'd probably find my volume surprisingly light.

                • Did you push yourself?

                  In my 27-30 minute 3 mile runs I don't...

Well if you're not trying to improve, you won't improve. And no, it's presumably gotten to the point where a 23 minute 3 mile is a breeze and I'm not exerting myself.

                    • That was my point. Getting down to 27 minutes for 3 miles you don't have to push yourself.

To get better, most people do.

Cycling is better in all three ways, for me. I never liked running.

                              • Running is more efficient. I'm going to try and mix it up though, swimming is a great alternative.
