So I should have ignored her more? That's what I was saying! But how can I ignore a woman but also express interest? Such a dilemma which I was alluding to earlier.

Alby, you just don't strike me as a very "warm" person. You are a bit aloof, which could initially attract some people ("he's eccentric, interesting") until they found out you're just socially awkward. You just need to get lots of practice and be more empathetic. What do you think they want? If you honestly have no idea, then I don't even know what to tell you.

You don't seem at all skilled at reading people's emotions or intentions. That's a huge skill in life. Work on that.

Pointless text messages to somebody you are courting may seem like you are seeking reassurance, don't do it.
Or at worst, might look like you're too chicken to front up to her and suggest a date.

It sounds like you are "beating around the bush". Cut out the "hey what's up" messages. Call her up (no texting) to arrange a meeting. Suggest a time and a place, perhaps "Let's meet for coffee at X cafe on Friday evening".
