I don't think you appreciate just how selective US military officer programs are.

      Too smart.

Does that make them weak and unfit for service?
      Yes.

They're not selective. They're lucky to get anyone who signs up with a real degree (not a BA).

And there it goes... there it goes. Precisely the prejudice on this forum. A bunch of weak-bodied pansies with no guts who think they're too smart to defend their country. ****ing exactly. Once again, the prejudice against the country's best exhibited by you liberal elitist ****s

What good is being smart if all you get to do is what's ordered of you? Sure, you can decide minor ****, but what's the point?

People who are intelligent are better in other positions, not as footsoldiers getting off on homoeroticism like the Marines and Army and Navy all do.

The real heroes are people like Loinburger, who used his brains to contribute to US Air Force research.

              Bachelor's isn't a real degree?

                • How many English, Economics, and Art History majors does it take to push a button to fire a cruise missile?

                  Tens of thousands.

I'm not sure why I found that funny.

                    • It's the old hilariously unfunny joke bit. Take a common joke structure, make it incomprehensible and unfunny, add an angry face, and it becomes funny.

No sense in settling for the Army or the Navy when I have what it takes for the Marines.
Then enlist with the Marines and become an officer later on. You spinning around in circles while being unable to find employment or pass OCS two times in does not speak to your leadership capabilities. If you enlist first at least it'll help you develope those skills.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

Leadership skills are not my problem. I did very well on my billets and my Leadership Reaction Courses and Small Unit Leadership Evaluations. I actually did outstanding on those and the captain administering my SULE even noted how I reacted properly to the simulated mortars unlike all the other candidates being evaluated that day.

What do you not understand? I was dropped for fractures in both my tibiae. It says nothing of my leadership capabilities. I was not a leadership failure by any stretch of the imagination.

And no, enlisting now then go to OCS? No. That would take even more time.

                              • Lonestar, this is not recruit training. There is no recycling at OCS. How many times do I have to say it? You get injured, no matter where you stand in the platoon, you get sent home. You can not make any judgments about an NPQ drop.
