                A friend of mine told me that his grandparents (who live in China, he is chinese) told him that apparently there are some celebrations in China over this with slogans like "revenge for world war II" and whatnot. That's kind of sick. Although, bear in mind I'm hearing this third-hand...

                  Unless I hear additional bad news on unit 2 RPV situation The situation is stabilizing I think. Now returning to your regularly scheduled program of " the end is near!"

                    I am duly impressed withnthe Japanese responses although I have to say the president was sounding whiney about not having info within an hour. 50 guys working their asses off don't have time necessarily to talk!

                      Some Americans have been talking about it being revenge for Pearl Harbour, and then there's the Christian Americans like in the video linked earlier...

                              Oh, of course. The fact that the kid's grandfather didn't agree with it (looks like I forgot to mention that sorry) shows that it's obviously not as though all of China feels that way.

                                I feel pretty good about the progress actually after reading the latest NEI updates. Levels in unit 1 but more importantly 2 are being maintained, so if leakage is occurring the breach is small and manageable. The fires reported for unit 4 were reextinguished and have nothing to do with "fuel rods on fire OMG". These are not the important issues. Although TEPCO is trying to figure out how to get more water to unit 4 SFP.
