EDIT: well, due to different underground there probably is a difference - here we get underground water from 80-100m wich probably isn't possible in Japan.

dfg, you are an idiot that haven't the faintest idea about anything
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I have an idea that you are unable to carry on a conversation without stating something stupid.

what question do you refer to?
When are you going to show me that I posted that I was afraid of radiation?

I use to know this guy who would say this to people when he became frustrated at his own stupidity.

Given the political climate, the fact that the US NRC has been second guessing the Japanese and suggesting larger radius evacuations, given the situation seems stabilized but indeterminate regarding containment damage I think the Japanese government is simply hedging it's bets. The situation will take a lengthy period of time to understand impact and a much longer time for remediation if that's the route they choose to go.

                • It would depend on how widespread the distribution of long-lived isotopes is, no?

Tiberium or Ichor is a fictional substance that is central to the plot of much of the Command & Conquer series of real-time strategy video games.

Yes but at present that impact is a complete unknown. Obviously containment integrity is the key to understanding long term exposures. What seems to be of most concern is onsite drainage and contamination. Certainly the species they are detecting indicates fuel rod failure but that comes as no big news considering the presence of cesium and iodine 134 from the outset. It's tough to say whether the onsite contamination is due in large if not entirely from planned steam releases to ensure reactor integrity or if it's a symptom of a much larger issue, reactor and containment integrity.

                          • If they were to expand the evacuation zone it may include the larger cities. Sendai has over a million people.

Tepco says now that containment is breached.

Radioactive water is leaking into the sea from a 20-centimetre (8-inch) crack in a containment pit

I have read from other news sources that they are declaring a full loss and they are fixing to cover it all in concrete. I hope it works
