Call me old school but I could never deposit cash into an ATM. If there is ever an error, that's it. There's no way to prove anything. At least with a teller, the teller counts the amount and immediately records it and provides a receipt.

How the **** did you make your first deposit?

And online banking wasn't around in 1999 or whenever you were old enough to make your own account.

The bull**** is starting to stink, Asher.

I go to an ATM about once every 3 months...withdraw $100 or so.

Alby, are you retarded? (Don't answer that).

My bank has zero tellers and zero branches. How the **** would I ever see one, given that?

I opened the account in 2000, and it most certainly was available then.

I also do all of my investing through a self-directed account, one I opened online without ever talking to another person (in person or otherwise).

I've also had cable internet since 1998.

Sometimes Canada is so much more advanced than the US, it's not even funny.

Yes, but as someone said earlier "The weed-man doesn't take debit".

Oh. I didn't realize online banking was that old.

It need not even be online banking. The bank has never had tellers or branches but first opened in 1996. It was done via telephone for a couple years until they opened a website for it.

I also call bull****. In Calgary?!

                    According to this article:
                    http://www.informit.com/library/content.aspx?b=Planet_Broadband&seqNum=17

By the end of 1998, the North American cable industry counted 550,000 cable modem subscribers.
I highly doubt you were one of the only 550,000 subscribers in ALL of North America in 1998... in Calgary, no less

Doubt all you want. It was called Shaw Wave, and I was the envy of my Jr High's geek crowd. True story. Got it in 9th grade.

                      It was later rebranded Shaw@Home.

I also have been on the internet since 1990, via CompuServe. Call bull**** there too.

We even had cable internet in the UK in 1998.

And 1996?! That means you were actually two years too late, Asher.

Here's a mailing list posting from 1998 asking about using a Shaw Wave cable modem in Linux.

It wasn't available in my neighbourhood til 1998.

Calgary is a wealthy, tech-savvy city. It really shouldn't be surprising to anyone who knows anything about it.

You can apologize to me for two things you've called me a liar on in this thread, now...
